June 11, 2013:

It was Summer, 1995, about 8 days after Aaron and I met for the first time.  A group of us went to the neighborhood bar.  Everything was in walking distance, so we walked from our apartment on the hill, to the pub down the street.  It was already dark, even though it was mid-summer, as we all walked.  I was wearing overalls, I loved wearing my overalls.  I was wearing my glasses, the vintage pink aluminum cateyes with glitzy diamonds all over them.  When we got to the bar we ordered pitchers of beer and played darts.  We stayed long enough and finally, when we left, it was only Aaron and I.  Everyone had started walking home already.  It was pouring, but warm outside, so we did not mind the rain.  It was this exact moment, in the summer warmth, in the pouring down rain, in the dark, when Aaron leaned down and we had our first real kiss.  His mouth was so warm on mine in contrast to the cold rain on my face.  The kiss lasted and lasted.  We were soaked from the downpour, but did not notice until we got home.
