I kept it a secret, from almost everyone.  Most especially from the boys.  On the day we went to pick out our new kitten, I told the boys we were going to pick up a table that I bought.  They did not even have the tiniest idea that we were going to pick out a kitten.  When we pulled into the driveway, I turned around and told them the truth.
