My beautiful friend, Christa, grew up in Portland. Her father created the ceramics department at Portland State University. Her mother is an incredible artist, and so is Christa. I adore being around Christa, I soak up every moment I get with her. She is magic. She has been in incredibly positive influence in my life. She taught me yoga and she gave me the incredible gift of teaching me how to teach yoga. She has also filled my heart with compassion and love and kindness. I adore her. Very much.
Tonight we went to Christa's mother's art show opening. The art was beautiful and the environment was rich in Portland history. A history I am jealous of. This family goes way back in Portland and all of the people there are connected by family and decades long relationships. I don't have a history like that. My history in Portland starts with Aaron and I showing up in 1997, knowing two people. No family ties. My family is all over the country now and I hate it. I want to have the richness that this family shares. Maybe someday, we will all live in the same area. I hope that dream comes true. New Zealand, family? What say you?
