We are in Greece! We left Portland at 7:00 pm on Monday, and now it is 12:25 am on Wednesday. This is the farthest I’ve traveled. It was very easy, but uncomfortable af. Wow.
I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is: we are in Athens! The sad and bad news is, my camera was dropped in the airport in Portland and is now broken. The filter is bent. so, the lens no longer focuses. I can only manually focus. We will find a camera shop tomorrow to problem solve. Maybe and hopefully it’s an easy fix! And maybe I have to replace the lens. This is sad and bad. And for the person who dropped my camera, it is especially bad and sad.
Onward and upward! I will keep you posted!
Our apartment in Athens is amazing. It’s quirky and old and three levels. There’s a whole rooftop terrace. I can’t wait to see it in the daylight.
We have a 2 hour tour planned tomorrow morning with a local Athenian. She is a volunteer, all of the tour guides in this group are volunteers, they do it because they are passionate about their city. I am hoping for a lovely tour.
Not being able to use my camera is like not being able to use my arm or my imagination or another limb whose name I don’t know. We will fix it.
I love you,
Love, E
