Sheltering is hard. We are being so strict. Sometimes it’s a relief, it feeds my fundamental need for feeling safe. Sometimes it feels hopeless. Like we’re never getting out of this. Staying more present and not letting my mind wander into future thinking is definitely crucial, but I am not always successful. My heart breaks for my kids, for all of the kids. I wonder what they will think when they look back at this time. Hopefully for them it will a blip. They seem so much more resilient than I feel, but you never know. Lavi was very sad today. What 14 year old kid wants to hang out with his mom all summer and not his friends? Fuck.
